From a two-person idea in Florence to infrastructure for hundreds of millions of shipments, ShippyPro marks a decade by doubling down on agentic AI for global logistics.
FLORENCE, Italy — September 7, 2026 — ShippyPro, the AI-powered shipping platform built for global commerce, turns ten this year.
Ten years since two founders in Florence decided that shipping should not be the hardest part of selling something online. Ten years, hundreds of millions of parcels and more than1,800 companies in more than 50 countries later, the layer they built has become the infrastructure global brands run their logistics on.
The idea was simple enough to explain in a sentence. What has taken a decade is the harder part: building not just software, but a platform that keeps reinventing itself as the technology available to solve the problem keeps changing, most recently, agentic AI. In 2016, Francesco Borghi and Lorenzo Rogai looked at global logistics and saw an industry that had never been given a common language. It was fragmented, full of geographic and cultural barriers, and every carrier had its own labels, tracking codes and rules. A brand that wanted to sell in five countries had to solve shipping five times.
So they built the layer that was missing: one connection to every carrier, one place to create a label, one place to see where a parcel is, one place to take it back when the customer changes their mind.
Ten years on, that layer has carried hundreds of millions of shipments for brands including Calzedonia, Diesel, Guess, Venchi, Macron and Longchamp. A pair of shoes leaving a warehouse for the other side of the world, a dress going back to a returns centre, a replacement part arriving before anyone has time to worry about it: unglamorous, essential work, done at scale.
"We started with a problem nobody wanted to own," says Francesco Borghi, Founder and CEO of ShippyPro. "Shipping was the part of ecommerce everyone treated as somebody else's job. The carriers thought it was the merchant's problem, the merchant thought it was the carrier's problem, and the customer was left refreshing a tracking page. Our whole company exists in that gap. Ten years in, what I am proudest of is not the numbers. It is that we reached breakeven in our first year and never stopped building, that we did it from Florence, and that we brought a lot of Italian talent home to do it. The ambition has never changed. It has only got bigger."
A decade, briefly
In 2021 it raised a $5 million Series A from Five Elms Capital, when the platform connected over 140 carriers and 60 sales channels and served customers in 36 countries. In November 2023 the same investor returned with a $15 million Series B, among the largest in Italy that year and the largest in Italian SaaS, and the company went on to build one of Italy's biggest technology hubs in Florence. The team grew with it: three people in 2019, around 50 by the Series A, and around 70 today, working across 13 nationalities from Florence, Milan and remotely.
The platform grew on the same curve. Today it connects 200+ carriers and 80+ sales channels reaching more than 160+ countries, a threshold it crossed only this year, a decade in the making one integration at a time. The past twelve months also brought outside confirmation of what that adds up to. In March 2026 ShippyPro earned 11 G2 Spring badges, including Leader in Shipping and High Performer in the Enterprise segment. In June 2026 it was named for the first time in the Gartner® Market Guide for Multicarrier Parcel Management Solutions, as the only Italian vendor and one of only three European players in the report.
None of it changed the promise underneath, which has held for ten years. Make people work better. It describes both halves of the company: software built to take work off the people who run shipping operations, and a team built on the same test.
What the next ten years are for
The first decade was about connection: making every carrier reachable from one place. The second is about thinking bigger than before.
Financial Intelligence is where that starts, and it's agentic by design, architected to put brands and businesses back in control of costs and where to optimise them. It reads every carrier invoice, whatever format it lands in, whatever exceptions and surcharge codes it buries, and turns it into something readable and actionable in seconds: patterns of overcharge and exception no manual review was ever going to catch at this scale. Delivery Prediction, the company's first machine learning model, in beta since May 2026, was trained on hundreds of millions of real shipments to estimate the day an order will actually land, before it leaves the warehouse. Both replace a guess with an answer, and both get sharper the more parcels move through the platform.
The ambition behind both has been the same since the Series A in 2021: to be the all-in-one global delivery infrastructure for e-commerce. A decade of carrier connections and hundreds of millions of parcels got ShippyPro to the table. What happens next is the actual plan, and it isn't incremental.
More markets, more carriers, more parcels, and a bigger team in Florence and beyond to build them. What the first decade built is what makes the next one possible.
The company will celebrate the milestone at ShippyPro Experience 2026, its flagship customer and industry event, taking place September 24–25 in the city where ShippyPro began.
